Converted 340 images to WebP using the recommendations from the image optimisation tool. Average page weight dropped by 60%. Mobile PageSpeed went from 52 to 79.

Lazy loading was the other big win for me. Images below the fold were loading on page open. Added loading="lazy" across the board and LCP improved dramatically.

Don't neglect descriptive alt text for SEO. Descriptive alt text with relevant keywords gets images ranking in Google image search — a traffic source most people ignore.
